Left our Desert View Hotel (slightly confused by Utah being 1 hour ahead of Arizona) and drove to Lower Antelope Canyon.  Took a tour underground to see some amazing rock formations in one of the best slot canyons.  It was a bit of a tourist trap with people being rushed through, but it couldn't detract from the beauty of the place.

Then on to Horseshoe Bend Park which is where the Colorado River bends through 270 degrees.  Great views but quite dangerous with no fences and precipitous drops.  The only way to capture the full view was to lean over the edge.

Stopped at Walmart and McDonalds for supplies and then set up our tent at Lake Powell - the lake created when they damned the Colorado at Glen Canyon.  Nice site with a view of the lake.  Went down to the beach area so Zoe could paddle and Stuart skim stones.

Then back to the campsite for a campfire and hot water bottles in preparation for a cold night in the tent.  The stars were really bright in the evening - probably better than Joshua Tree.  Makes one feel insignificant.
