Left our hotel by 9:30 so we could do our final hike in the Canyon in the cooler morning temperatures. Decided to hike the Bright Angel Trail to the 1.5 mile point and back. The trail drops over 1,000 feet in that distance. Parts of the hike are on paths with precipitous drops and it involves 2 tunnels and many switch-backs.  It was the trail that Native Indians used when they inhabited the Canyon and is still used by mule trains.  Took us abou 3.5 hours there and back but was a great experience.

Then drove Eastwards out of the Canyon via more lookouts and Desert View Tower.  A long drive to Page for a couple of nights.  Were too tired to do the Horseshoe Bends Viewpoint so will do that tomorrow.
