Woken at 7 by church bells and after a leisurely breakfast set off down the ever widening Soča river in its deep gorge. Took a left onto the motorway and Stuart finally got a break from driving.
A scenic motorway with lots of bridges and tunnels and after 2.5 hours stopped near Žalec at a very peaceful campsite in the Krajinski National Park.
Thought we'd do a bike ride to the hop growing / beer producing area, but very quickly realised this campsite was not in cycling territory. Stuart gallantly handed over the only working electric bike but soon even that wouldn't make it up the hills. When we looked on Google maps for directions, cycling was not even an option as if to say, what? cycle here, don't be silly. Gave up after about 8 miles. Lovely countryside all the same and every homestead seems to have their own patch of vines.
Nice temperature today - around 23°
