A leisurely start to the day after the drive yesterday.  Left the house about midday.

Visited Mammoth Springs first and walked around a number of terraces and pools.  In the main intersection area there were loads of Bison and calves lying on the grass - tough to stay at least 50 yards from them!

Then drove to Lamar Valley to see some wildlife.  On the way we saw loads of Bison and Elk.  Also saw a Black Bear close up which was wandering down a stream bed.  Then just up the road we saw Big Horn sheep lying by the side of the road - massive horns.  Round the corner was a red fox (just changing into summer colours) wandering up the hillside.

We stopped at a pullout where people were staring through massive camera lenses at Ospreys nesting in a tree across the river.  Also looked through powerful monoculars a bit further on at a Grizzly Bear in the distance.

Also saw a Crane and a fair few pronghorn antelope.  We saw a few more Black Bear in the distance behind trees.

Got back around 6pm - tired but pleased with seeing a lot of wildlife.
