Left Slovakia and the Dunajec which has been wonderful - what a difference perfect weather makes! Now on to Poland, our 8th country.
No sooner had we crossed the border storks were everywhere, on top of chimneys, lamp posts and in fields. There were also many roads and even a roundabout called Pope John Paul 2nd. He did hail from this region after all.
Stuart parked the motorhome and caught a Wizzair flight to Gatwick for a hospital appointment whilst I remain in Krakow.
Apart from the heat increasing to the 30s again, there are worse places one could be left alone.
Walked through the park and sat and listened to an afternoon concert for half an hour, meandered to the main square, had a mooch around the market, stopped for some potato pancakes and salad in our favourite Morskie Oko restaurant, and just as I was walking into St Mary's Basilica a mass started so I thought I may as well stay as it's been a while. Lots of time to appreciate the beautiful blue and gold decor. A walk through the park again and watched folk doing the tango before retiring to the air conditioned room. Kraków's a beautiful city.
