Today we spent most of the day on top of the Tatras.

Left at 9am to avoid the chance of storms. Took a short walk to the chairlift, then a gondola to a restaurant where we stopped for a while as it was cloudy and we couldn't see a thing (but were really enjoying being cool). When the clouds lifted we got another chairlift to a lovely viewpoint.

Finally we went up on the big cable car (with a rather

flimsy looking cable which had no support all the way up) to the top of the Lomnicky Štít at 2634m. Stayed on the observation deck for an hour - amazing views as far as Poland and birds eye views of tarns and waterfalls. The bloke there said you can see the lights of Krakow by night.

Made our way back down into the heat. An English motorhome turned up and blew the electrics so no more fan for us!

As we'd exceeded our budget on chairlifts and cable cars, it was pasta and cheese for tea.
