Early bike ride into Würzburg to look around the Residenz which was very opulent and had an impressive mirror room (all of which we bombed to smithereens in WW2 and they have since reconstructed).

Drove an hour south to Rothenburg ob Der Tauber which is a beautiful medieval town with loads of old buildings from as early as the 13th Century. Spent the rest of the day wandering the town, the bastion and along the castle walls, and came across a choir in the church and an orchestra in the square all the way from Tennessee USA.

Sampled one of the local delicacies - schneebäller (snowballs) - basically fried pastry (not great) and visited an enormous Christmas shop.

We crammed a lot in today - 13000 steps!

Cam back to our almost free camping area and drowned out the loud Germans next door with some music - why do people have to talk so loudly?
