Left the beautiful campsite in Chapelle and drove to Verona – a 5-hour slog. Passed over the Bernina pass at 2300 metres which is the same pass that we went over in a train on our InterRail trip in 1986. Dropped down into Tirano (Italy) where the train drives in the middle of the street. Then climbed a windy and narrow road to the ski town of Aprica to cross another mountain pass. Then down the shore (via many tunnels) of lake Iseo and then the motorway across to Verona. Italian roads are a lot worse than those in Switzerland! Nice new campsite for the evening but the Mozzies are out in force in the 23 degree temperatures.
