Checking the sea radar the Atlantic Sea docked in Halifax this morning. Frustratingly they need 2 days to customs clear it and with a weekend in between, we can't collect the motorhome til Tuesday.
Left our Delap savory historic house (built in 1875) and first stop was a visit to the botanical gardens just opposite.
Next a drive to a small waterfall at Baxter's Harbour.
Driving on passed many very quaint towns like Wolfville with picture perfect wooden houses with porches - even churches and lighthouses are clapboard around here. Then to a heritage site in Grand Pré which told the history of the Acadian settlers (originally from France) who built dykes to create fertile farmlands in the tidal Bay of Fundy but were later booted out by the Brits. A quick Mc D in Windsor then onto Parrsboro. With trees cleared for farmland, the countryside resembles England.
Once again we've overstretched ourselves and have spent far too long in the car today, albeit with lovely views and cruise control on most of the way. Checked into a pleasant room for the night.
