Left Montréal and drove for about 3.5 hours on the awful Canadian Highway - so uneven, congested and full of road works. Reached Quebec City, parked about 1.5k outside and cycled in along the river. Very picturesque city with the castle on the hill. Walked the cobbled streets to the fenicular which took us up to the Fairmont Chateau. Looked inside the Protestant Cathedral of the Holy Trinity which had gifts from King George 3rd, the Notre Dame de Quebec Catholic Cathedral and the oldest church in Quebec, Notre Dame des Victoires.   Also saw the old castle walls. Had a McD and cycled back. Drove in to find the overnight carpark on ioverlander but it was reserved for the performers of a music festival currently taking place. Decided to camp a half hour outside the city in a quiet car park by a church in St Michel and stopped at Chutes de la Chaudière waterfall on the way.
