Drove in the morning most through Stowe and into the Ben and Jerrys ice cream factory where we took a tour and sampled some ice cream. Now owned by Unilever.

Then drove to Burlington which is a lovely town in a large lake. Walked the shore and the downtown area in sunny weather.

Next went over some of the Green mountains to Mad River Valley ski resort which had the last single person chair lift in the USA. Lovely fall colours.

Finally onto Montpellier which is the state capital and wandered Main and State streets to see the Capitol building and some turkey vultures circling.

After a stop at Walmart we parked for the night in a truck stop next to some very large and noisy 12 wheelers.
