Started off the day watching Wales lose to Italy in the rugby :(
Drove the 1 hour to Telluride today. It's a picture postcard US Main street in a valley with steep runs down from the top of the mountain. We caught the free gondola up to the summit and then down the other side to Mountain Village which is a newer resort with loads of runs leading up into the mountains. Sorely tempted to go skiing but a day lift pass is about 4 times that in Europe, plus equipment hire. Enjoyed a coffee instead in one of the heated gondola pods in the main square.
Caught the gondola back to Telluride and had a walk around the town park where we could have gone cross country skiing but it was a bit tame looking. Then the rive back to Ouray in more clear skies with great views of the San Juan Rockies.
