Left Alsfeld at 8.30 just as snow started falling. This got quite heavy on the motorway but dissipated by the time we got to Cologne at midday. Parked up and someone gave us a parking ticket valid til tomorrow - result. Started raining so took an Uber to the cathedral for all of £6. A collosal building with a shrine supposedly containing remains of the three magi. Next visited not one but five Christmas markets including the angels market featuring wandering angels, the gay and lesbian market with kitch white trees and pink flamingos, a market with a German Punch and Judy type show, one by a castle with a St Nicholas and the one with the cathedral backdrop. Enjoyed a couple of gluhweins and sausages and wandered through the pedestrianised shopping area. Took a tram back to the motorhome. Shop bought pierogi for tea and anticipating a poor night's sleep with continual rain forecast.
