After feeding the demanding cat , set off for Rila Monestary, the largest Eastern Orthodox monastery in Bulgaria. Drove through vineyards with mountain views, then wound through hilly forests to the Monestary which was in a lovely position with a snowy peak backdrop. Lovely exterior and the interior probably the most magnificent we've seen, especially the huge gold chandelier. Only 8 monks live there now. Next drove to a mountain meadow and had a cuppa with a lovely vista before being told to move to the car park by officials. Drove the scenic route back and had a final dip in the hot pool. Did a bit of planning.
