The news that a 3rd person from my class has died suddenly in the space of just one year has confirmed we're doing the right thing adventuring now - tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Drove around Paris, right past the Olympic stadium. Decided we may as well stop in Rouen for the day as we were passing and found a basic pitch by a marina and did some laundry and work.
Back to 26° and sunny - excellent drying weather but a bit hot for cycling. Cycled in anyway in the late afternoon.
Visited the collosal cathedral where Richard the Lionheart's heart is buried and lit a candle for family members, wandered around the centre for a couple of hours including the marketplace where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake.
Cycled back and stopped at a Cuban bar by the banks of the Seine. People were dancing the salsa on the promenade. Relaxed in the deck chairs with a beer and watched this for a while before cycling back.
Sometimes a spur of the moment decision results in a splendid
day like this.
