Left early ish from our car park and after getting petrol and DEF, crossed some big bridges on the way to New London. There is no way for a non-US car to pay tolls on these, so hopefully no nasty fines when we try to leave the States.

Got to New London ferry terminal and boarded the 10:30 boat for the 90 minute crossing to the eastern end of Long Island. Lovely smooth and sunny trip.

Drove to a small animal refuge park for a walk and cup of tea, then cycled to Quoeog beach on the south shore. The beaches charge $40 to $50 for limited parking; we assume to keep them exclusive for the big houses that border the beach. Very deserted, so we think most residents only come here in the summer or at weekends.

Drove on to a beach near Southampton near sunset which was deserted and backed with large summer residences.

Finally a drive in the dark to our garden centre car park for the night.
