A great night's sleep with air con. Set off early down the river walk stopping at the river museum (Chicago has 37 moveable bridges), then meandered through Millenium Park to Lake Michigan. Lots of interesting architecture, gardens and fountains. Popped into the cultural centre which had a beautiful stained glass dome. Got back to the air con before 2pm to sit out the most extreme heat - a near record high. In the evening went to Giordano's for a very nice deep dish Chicago pizza. SO WINDY. Then walked back to the river walk for an interesting sunset cruise around Lake Michigan and the river which had a great atmosphere.
