An uncomfortable night due to the heat. Set off via a short detour into Iowa (just to say we've been to that state), then into Minneapolis. Hoped to visit the world's largest ball of twine but it would have added 2 hours to the journey so gave that a miss. Crossed the whole of Minneapolis and the highlight amidst the never ending flat farmland, cute barns and wind farms was the Spam Museum in Austin which tells the story of spam, has fun activities and even a shop with spam lip balm. Tried a sample of Korean BBQ spam which was very nice. Very windy so driving onwards was hard work. Crossed the Mississippi river again (last time in Louisiana) and carried on to Wisconsin Dells to a free parking spot. Very touristy (crazy golf, Ripleys etc) and somewhere we would have never thought of visiting - the joys of unplanned meandering. Had a walk by the river, food in a nearby pub and did the laundry. 400 miles traveled today. Another hot and muggy night awaits.
