As it was a sunny day, ,we decided to walk into Tofino. Crossed three beaches, some headlands and woodland paths. About 5 mile round trip. Saw lots of seaplanes taking off and landing and a sushi bar owner was throwing away fish scraps on the beach which attracted about a dozen bald eagles up close.
Had lunch in Big Daddy's Fish Fry (lingcod and chowder) and walked the harbour area.
ON the way back, saw signs of bear activity and also warnings about cougars - don't want to do that walk in the dark. Sat overlooking the beach in the late afternoon, absorbing the sun's rays.
