Dropped down out of the park into Port Angeles and then up the long road to Hurricane Ridge at over 5000 feet. Still lots of snow around and magnificent views of Mount Olympia and the other peaks with their glaciers.

About five marmots running around quite close to- a very cute rodent. Also a few black tailed deer.

A convoy of vehicles announced the arrival of the secretary of the interior who was up there to discuss rebuilding the lodge and also for a photo opportunity. Some boos and jeers from locals who feel he wants to explore and privatise the parks.

Then down to our campsite for the rest of the day.
