Left the campsite by 8 and drive an hour up some very windy roads into sequoia park- climbed over 6000 feet.

Stopped first at the Big Trees Grove where they have lots of large sequoia around a meadow. Still quite a bit of snow in places.

Then in a bit further to General Sherman tree - the largest tree by volume of wood in the world. Almost 300 feet high and 30 feet in diameter. They are very resistant to fire and all of them have fire burn the base from frequent fires.

Walked around the Congress trail to see more sequoias.

Very slowly back down the road to ensure the brakes didn’t overheat and after seeing a couple of white tail deer, got back to the campground around 6.
