Left Cracker Barrel and stopped a laundromat to do some laundry. Then into the centre of town to visit the Alamo.

Nicely presented and reminds you of how recent the history is - it was only in 1836 that Texas became an independent country before joining the USA 10 years later. Re-learnt all about Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie and William Travis.

Coincidentally it was Texas Independence Day so we got to watch a local school’s band and cheerleaders perform. Miss Texas also showed up to get photographed in front of the Alamo.

Drove out to some stores and I bought a pair of cowboy boots from Boot Barn. Then we drove to our roadside Boondocker for the night.
